[Act](/category/act/) SKILL.md is the entrypoint manifest of an Agent Skill folder (agentskills.io). It combines a strict YAML frontmatter block (name and description, loaded into the agent's context at startup so the router knows when the skill applies) with a Markdown body of step-by-step instructions, tool usage rules, and relative links to bundled scripts/, references/, and assets/ that are read into context only when the skill is activated. Used by: anthropic-agent-skills-format.
