# MCP Prompt

An **MCP Prompt** is a reusable, parameterized prompt template or workflow slash-command exposed by an MCP server via `prompts/list` and `prompts/get`. Hosts typically surface MCP prompts directly to users as slash commands or structured workflow starters that pre-populate messages and embedded **MCP Resources** for the language model. Used by: mcp.
