# A2A Task

An **A2A Task** is the core stateful unit of work in the **Agent2Agent (A2A)** protocol. When a client agent sends a message to a remote agent, the server tracks execution through a deterministic state machine (`submitted`, `working`, `input-required`, `auth-required`, `completed`, `failed`, `canceled`, `rejected`), streaming incremental status events and emitting immutable output **Artifacts** composed of typed content `Part` objects. Used by: a2a.
